ACASD: 3rd International Workshop on Advances in Civil Aviation Systems Development

The 3rd International Workshop on Advances in Civil Aviation Systems Development (Acasd) will be held in-person from March 18-20, 2025. This joint event, hosted by Purdue University’s School of Aeronautics and Astronautics (West Lafayette, IN, USA) and the National Aviation University (Kyiv, Ukraine), will feature an online component to facilitate global participation.

ACASD aims to connect leading researchers and practitioners in civil aviation systems. The workshop will cover various topics, from avionics and air traffic management to the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian war on global air transportation. This provides a unique platform for sharing expertise and exploring innovative solutions to complex challenges in the aerospace domain. An Aviation Career Development Day will also be included, offering guidance and insights into the future of aviation science.

Key Topics and Focus Areas

ACASD 2025 will delve into a range of critical subjects within civil aviation:

  • Civil Avionics Systems: Exploring the latest advancements in aircraft electronics and control systems.
  • Air Traffic Management Systems: Addressing the complexities of managing and optimizing air traffic flow.
  • Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance Systems: Examining crucial technologies for safe and efficient air travel.
  • Avionics System Maintenance: Focusing on the essential role of maintenance in ensuring aviation safety and reliability.
  • Human Factor and Safety System Analysis: Analyzing the human element in aviation and strategies for mitigating risks.
  • Air Traffic Analysis with ADS-B Data: Utilizing Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast data for improved air traffic monitoring.
