Step 2: Complete and Submit Your Application

Step 3: Prepare For and Schedule Your PRAXIS Subject Assessment
A fundamental requirement for joining the Career Switcher Program is demonstrating your subject matter expertise through the PRAXIS Subject Assessment. It is vital to prepare for and schedule this exam as early as possible in the application process, as scheduling and receiving results can take time.
The PRAXIS Subject Assessment should align with the subject area(s) you intend to teach, ensuring you possess the necessary knowledge to excel in your chosen field. Note that only one passing PRAXIS Subject Assessment score is needed for program entry, and candidates with multiple endorsements are welcomed.

Most PRAXIS exams are administered at central locations on Saturdays, so careful planning is essential to meet deadlines and avoid late registration fees. Approximately six weeks before the scheduled start date of the Fall or Spring session, the program coordinator will contact you via email to update you on your application status.
