One notable feature of VCDS is its ability to read and save adaptation values in all control modules. This is particularly useful for tasks such as resetting the service reminder indicator (SRI). To reset the SRI in a Crafter LT3, users can navigate to the Instruments module (module 96) through the dedicated LT3 tab in the VCDS interface.
Within the Instruments module, the “Adaptation” function provides access to various adjustable parameters. Locating the “Service interval extension – Reset Konstante” channel allows users to reset the SRI. The channel name might vary slightly based on the specific instrument cluster installed in the vehicle.
Once the correct channel is selected, the current stored value, usually “00 00 00 01” when the SRI is active, can be modified to “00 00 00 00” to reset the service reminder. A confirmation prompt ensures the user intends to make this change. It’s highly recommended to only modify adaptation channels with a clear understanding of their function and potential impact.
