Bridge Week is an essential component for all Traditional Pathway students enrolled in the Emory University Wound Care Program. It consistently garners outstanding feedback and is frequently cited as a compelling reason why many students choose our program for wound care education. Beyond the invaluable on-site experience and close collaboration with our expert clinical instructors, participation in Bridge Week allows students to accumulate clinical hours that contribute to the total clinical hour requirement. For instance, students in the tri-specialty track earn 26 clinical hours during Bridge Week, effectively reducing their required precepted clinical hours from 120 to just 94.

Moreover, Bridge Week at Emory University offers a valuable platform to build connections with fellow WOC nursing students from across the nation and Canada. It provides a chance to engage with the esteemed WOCNEC Team, clarify complex concepts within wound care, and proactively prepare for board certification in wound, ostomy, and continence nursing. Students are expected to attend the Bridge Week session that aligns with their specific program of study, with sessions offered approximately every six weeks. Please note that the Continence Bridge Week is exclusively offered in a virtual format.

There are no additional tuition costs or fees associated with Bridge Week, underscoring Emory University’s commitment to accessible and high-quality wound care education. However, students are responsible for covering their personal travel, accommodation, and incidental expenses related to attending the Decatur, GA location. The Emory Nursing Learning Center (ENLC), conveniently situated at 250 East Ponce de Leon, Decatur, GA, is easily accessible and within walking distance of various hotels, shops, restaurants, and the MARTA station. Renting a car is generally unnecessary, and group discount codes are available for hotel stays if required.
