Discover the EOPS CARE Program: Your Pathway to College Success

The Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) and Cooperative Resources Agencies for Education (CARE) program are dedicated to making higher education accessible. Specifically designed for students from educationally and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, the Eops Care Program at our college strives to not only open doors to college but also provide robust support to ensure student retention and achievement. Our committed staff works closely with each student, offering tailored resources and guidance to help them realize their academic, career, and life aspirations.

EOPS: Extended Opportunity Programs and Services

EOPS provides a comprehensive suite of support services for students who meet specific educational and economic criteria, particularly those from underrepresented groups. To be eligible for the Extended Opportunity Programs and Services, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Enroll in 12 units (reduced load possible for DSPS students under exceptional circumstances)
  • Qualify for the California College Promise Grant (formerly BOG Fee Waiver, A or B) with a Student Aid Index (SAI) of $0 or less.
  • Have earned fewer than 70 degree-applicable college units from all prior colleges/universities.
  • Submit a complete application to the EOPS program.
  • Fulfill one of the following criteria:
    • Be a first-generation college student.
    • Possess a high school GPA below 2.5.
    • Not have graduated high school or passed the GED.

EOPS program participants benefit from a range of dedicated services, including:

  • Priority Registration: Early access to course registration.
  • Comprehensive Counseling: Academic advising, personal counseling, career guidance, and peer support networks.
  • Transfer Assistance: Information and resources for seamless university transfer.
  • Application Fee Waivers: Waivers for CSU and UC application fees.
  • Book Grants: Financial assistance for textbooks.
  • Skill-Building Workshops: Workshops designed to enhance academic and life skills.
  • Case Management: Personalized case management and progress monitoring.
  • CARE Program Access: Automatic consideration for the Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) program.

Fall 2025 Application

Please note that the EOPS application is currently closed. It will reopen for Fall 2025, and the application opening date will be announced soon. For those interested in the EOPS CARE program, we encourage you to check back for updates and prepare for the Fall 2025 application.
