Enroll Now for the 2024/25 Extended Day Care Program

For 34 years, the Lumberton Extended Day Care Program (EDC) has been a cornerstone for working families, providing a secure, budget-friendly, and easily accessible day care solution for children in Pre-K (3-year-olds) through 8th grade residing in Lumberton and Edgewater Park. Under the experienced guidance of Mrs. Diane Solan, the EDC Coordinator, and Mrs. Jennifer Grimm, the EDC Secretary, our program is committed to supporting your family’s needs. Contact information for both is available at the end of this article.

At our Extended Day Care, we prioritize creating a nurturing, enjoyable, and relaxed environment where children can thrive. We offer a diverse range of activities, from engaging games and creative crafts to sports and dedicated homework time. All activities are carefully supervised by our team of professional and caring staff members, ensuring a positive and enriching experience for every child. The Extended Day Care program is supported by parental tuition, with payments conveniently made weekly in advance on Tuesdays. Please be aware that late registration incurs fees ($5 per scheduled day) if the Tuesday deadline is missed. Annual registration is required for all participating children. While we do not offer subsidized tuition, we are pleased to provide discounted tuition rates for families who qualify for free or reduced-price school meals, as determined annually by the school district. Please reach out to the EDC office to request a Reduced EDC Tuition Application/Authorization Form.

Program Schedules Tailored for Lumberton and Edgewater Park Families

Lumberton Families:

Aligning with the Lumberton School District calendar, our EDC program offers both morning (AM) and afternoon (PM) sessions on all regular school days. Please note that PM EDC will not be available on the half-day before Thanksgiving (Wednesday, November 27, 2024), during Winter Break (starting Friday, December 20, 2024), and on the last day of school (Wednesday, June 18, 2024). However, AM EDC will be available on these dates. Our program opens as early as 6:35 AM, Monday through Friday, during regular school weeks and after early dismissals. On non-scheduled delayed opening days, we open at 8:35 AM, and on scheduled delayed openings (Thursday, December 12, 2024), AM EDC will begin at 7:00 AM. On standard school days, EDC operates until 6:00 PM. Please be aware that EDC is closed during extended holidays, on full snow days, or in the event of early dismissal due to severe weather. In case of early dismissal, to avoid late charges, children must be picked up within two hours of the school’s closing time.

Edgewater Park Families:

For families in Edgewater Park, our EDC schedule follows the Edgewater Park School District calendar. We provide both AM and PM EDC on school days, with the exception of PM EDC on half-days including the first day of school (Thursday, September 5, 2024), days preceding school holidays (Wednesday, November 27, 2024, Friday, December 20, 2024, Thursday, April 17, 2025), and the last day of school (Tuesday, June 17, 2025). AM EDC will be offered on these half-days. The program is available from 7:00 AM, Monday through Friday, during school sessions and after early dismissals, and from 9:00 AM on delayed-opening school days. EDC services for Edgewater Park are located at Magowan School; Ridgway School students will have transportation arranged to and from EDC. EDC closes at 6:00 PM on regular school days and is closed during extended holidays, full snow days, or early dismissals due to inclement weather. Similar to Lumberton, Edgewater Park parents must pick up their children within two hours of early dismissal to avoid late fees.
