Embarking on a health career path at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is an exciting journey, and Health Programs Advisors are here to guide you every step of the way. Whether you’re just starting to explore your options or are ready to apply to a limited entry program, connecting with an advisor is a crucial step to ensure your success. Appointments with Health Programs Advisors are required for several key processes, designed to support you in achieving your academic and career goals.
Why Schedule an Appointment with Health Programs Advisors?
Dedicated Health Programs Advisors offer personalized support tailored to your specific needs. Meeting with an advisor is essential for:
- Eligibility for Limited Entry Health Programs: If you plan to apply to any of CSN’s competitive health programs, a mandatory appointment with a Health Programs Advisor is a prerequisite. This ensures you understand all program requirements and are well-prepared for the application process.
- Individual Plans of Study (IPS): For students seeking long-term academic planning, advisors can help you create a structured Individual Plan of Study. This roadmap will guide you through your coursework and prerequisites, keeping you on track to graduation and your career aspirations.
- Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeals & Reinstatements: Navigating financial aid appeals can be complex. Health Programs Advisors provide guidance and support for students needing to appeal Financial Aid SAP status or seek reinstatement.
- Academic Suspension Appeals: Facing academic suspension can be challenging. Advisors are available to assist students with academic suspension appeals, providing resources and strategies to regain good academic standing.
- Scholarship Letters or Plans: Strengthen your scholarship applications with personalized letters or plans developed in collaboration with a Health Programs Advisor. They can help you articulate your academic goals and program fit effectively.

Health Programs Express Advising for Quick Inquiries
For students with quick questions or needing brief assistance, Health Programs Express Advising is available via CoyoteQ. This service operates on a first-come, first-served basis, both on-campus and by phone, at all HPA Offices on Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and Wednesdays from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Express Advising sessions are 15 minutes and can assist with:
- Answering quick questions
- Lifting advising holds

Please note: Financial Aid and Academic Suspension appeals cannot be completed during Express Advising, and importantly, Express Advising WILL NOT fulfill the mandatory advisor meeting requirement for Limited Entry health program applications.
