John Deere Service Advisor for Customers Now Available

John Deere now offers Customer Service ADVISOR™, a subscription-based service tool, directly to customers and independent repair shops in the U.S. via JohnDeereStore.com. This powerful diagnostic and repair resource provides access to essential technical manuals, empowering users to perform maintenance and repairs on their own equipment.

Customer Service ADVISOR™ offers a comprehensive digital database of Operator, Diagnostic, and Technical manuals for various John Deere products, including Agriculture, Turf, Construction & Forestry, and Power Systems equipment. While similar to the Service ADVISOR™ utilized by John Deere dealers, the customer version focuses on providing core diagnostic and repair information, excluding software updates, remote capabilities, and DTAC solutions access. This targeted approach caters to customers seeking in-depth technical resources for self-maintenance and repair.

John Deere recognizes the growing trend of customers performing their own equipment maintenance. “Today, due to a variety of reasons, more customers are using available tools, resources, and replacement parts John Deere offers to maintain their equipment themselves,” said Denver Caldwell, Director Aftermarket & Customer Support. “Customer Service ADVISOR unlocks deeper system levels insights to allow users with the expertise and desire to tackle more advanced repairs themselves.”

Initially launched through John Deere Construction & Forestry dealerships in 2011 and expanded to other divisions in 2017, Customer Service ADVISOR™ is now readily accessible online or as a downloaded application via JohnDeereStore.com. Subscription options cater to individual needs, providing flexibility for users. Dealerships continue to offer Customer Service ADVISOR™ and remain a valuable resource for customers seeking professional repairs.

John Deere Service Advisor: Subscription Options and Capabilities

John Deere offers two primary subscription options for Customer Service ADVISOR™: web-based and downloaded application. Each offers distinct advantages for users.

Web-Based Subscription:

  • Access Operator, Diagnostic, and Technical manuals from any laptop or mobile device with a Wi-Fi or cellular connection.

Downloaded Application Subscription:

  • Access Operator, Diagnostic, and Technical manuals from a laptop with or without a Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
  • Connect to machines equipped with an Electronic Data Link (EDL).
  • Clear and refresh diagnostic codes.
  • Take diagnostic readings.
  • Perform limited calibrations.

While Customer Service ADVISOR™ empowers users with advanced repair capabilities, John Deere recommends seeking training from a certified dealer to maximize the tool’s potential. “Utilizing the extensive capabilities of Customer Service ADVISOR requires training by the customer’s dealer, but having access to new insights and the ability to complete more advanced repairs themselves, gives customers more flexibility to complete them on their own time and allows for a better understanding of their equipment,” Caldwell said.

John Deere continues to enhance its customer solutions. In 2023, a mobile device interface and the ability to download secure software updates directly to compatible equipment with 4G MTG connections were introduced.

The availability of John Deere Service Advisor For Customers underscores Deere’s dedication to maximizing customer uptime and equipment repairability. By providing access to vital technical information and diagnostic tools, John Deere empowers customers to maintain and repair their equipment efficiently and effectively.
