Lost Volkswagen in Forza Horizon: Why You Can’t Find Some Cars

The inability to sell certain cars in the Forza Horizon auction house has been a contentious issue since the LEGO expansion. Players who sold their LEGO cars, like the Bugatti, found themselves unable to complete accolades and races that required those vehicles. A wise strategy is to only sell cars not available in the Autoshow after completing all associated races and accolades.

Playground Games (PG) subsequently removed these LEGO cars from the auction house entirely to prevent players from making the same mistake. This action left some players without crucial cars and no way to reacquire them. This situation likely led to the current restriction on auctioning ultra-rare cars, including barn finds. Even gifted loyalty reward cars from previous Forza titles are non-transferable.

This restriction extends to desirable cars like the Volkswagen Beetle, the Renault R4, and the 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS, each featuring unique body kits that players may want to experiment with on multiple vehicles. While acquiring duplicates of these cars isn’t possible through the auction house, it reinforces the collector aspect of the game. For dedicated Forza players, the goal remains to amass at least one of every car, embracing the challenge of obtaining each vehicle through legitimate in-game methods. The thrill of the hunt and the satisfaction of a complete collection are integral parts of the Forza experience.
