Understanding the ECU MAP Process
MAP utilizes COAD 1000, “Student Development in Higher Education,” a course taught by academic advisors to provide individualized support. This course helps students explore ECU’s diverse majors and complete self-assessments focusing on strengths and interests. Resources are provided for in-depth research into potential majors, emphasizing that choosing a major is a process.
Beyond academics, MAP assists students in transitioning from high school to college, equipping them with strategies for success. MAP advisors aim to empower students with the knowledge and tools necessary to confidently choose the right academic path.
