Elevating Healthcare with Patient Centered Care Programs

The patient-centered care program represents a transformative approach in healthcare, prioritizing the patient’s needs and preferences at every step. This model is designed to foster stronger, more effective partnerships between patients and their healthcare teams, leading to significantly improved health outcomes.

Extensive research consistently demonstrates the benefits of Patient Centered Care Programs. These programs are proven to enhance the quality of care and patient experience, boost staff satisfaction, and simultaneously reduce overall healthcare expenditures. Healthcare practices that achieve recognition in patient-centered care exemplify a commitment to continuous quality improvement and a dedication to patient-focused service.

Important Updates to Recognition Program Evaluations

Organizations today are navigating evolving guidelines concerning diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in light of recent executive orders. NCQA, as a federal contractor, is carefully assessing the implications of these orders on its programs and for its partners. To provide clarity during this dynamic period, NCQA is implementing modifications to scoring criteria for program evaluations, effective from February 12, 2025, for the following programs:

  • Patient-Centered Medical Home
  • Patient-Centered Specialty Practice
  • Virtual Primary and Urgent Care Accreditation

Detailed information regarding these scoring adjustments can be accessed here.

These updated guidelines will be in effect until April 30, 2025, or until further notice is issued by NCQA.

NCQA’s dedication to advancing healthcare quality remains steadfast. They are committed to ensuring all patients receive access to superior, appropriate care tailored to their individual needs.
