Bonnie Laiderman, the founder of Veterans Home Care®, identified a critical gap in support for veterans and their families. Having witnessed firsthand the difficulties in accessing Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits while caring for her mother, Bonnie understood the urgent need for a service that could bridge this gap. This personal experience fueled her passion to establish Veterans Home Care in 2003, with a core mission to ensure veterans receive the in-home care they deserve.
Through her innovative VetAssist® Program, Bonnie has successfully guided over 20,000 veterans and their spouses in navigating the complexities of VA benefits to secure in-home care. The program is specifically designed to help those who may be unaware of the benefits available to them. Many veterans are indeed eligible for programs that can significantly aid with the costs of home care, but lack of information prevents them from accessing this crucial support. The VetAssist® Program simplifies this process, offering guidance and support to determine eligibility and complete the application procedures.
Under Bonnie’s leadership, Veterans Home Care has grown from a small operation into a nationwide network, serving veterans across 48 states with over 4,000 home care providers. This expansion reflects the increasing demand for accessible and informed assistance in veteran home care. The company’s commitment to ethical practices has been recognized with the Better Business Bureau’s Torch Award for Ethics, alongside multiple Inc. 5000 Awards for being among the fastest-growing companies. These accolades underscore the company’s dedication not only to growth but also to integrity and service excellence.
Bonnie’s impact extends beyond her company. She is a committed supporter of organizations like Wings of Hope and Lydia’s House, contributing to vital services for vulnerable populations. Her involvement with the American Red Cross as a Tiffany Circle member, Service Armed Forces Committee chairperson, and mentor in the Society of Women Leaders further demonstrates her dedication to community and national service.
