Cat Perkins, a North Dakota native with a deep-rooted passion for music, embarked on her musical journey at a young age. Growing up in a family of musicians in Scranton, she honed her skills and spent summers performing at the Medora Musical. Driven by an unwavering desire for a professional music career, she relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Perkins quickly immersed herself in the Twin Cities music scene, participating in numerous bands and projects. Her rock band, Scarlet Haze, achieved notable success, opening for Bon Jovi and collaborating with renowned industry figures. Following a period of recovery from vocal surgery, Perkins triumphantly returned to the music scene in 2014, auditioning for season 6 of NBC’s The Voice.
Her blind audition on The Voice captivated three judges, and her remarkable performances consistently landed her in the iTunes top 5. Under the mentorship of Adam Levine, she advanced to the finals. The Voice provided Perkins with unprecedented opportunities, including performing for troops overseas on multiple military tours each year. She has also sold out venues across America with diverse themed performances and tours.
Inspired by her journey, Perkins began visiting schools, encouraging students to pursue their dreams fearlessly and positively impact the world. This evolved into a career as a keynote speaker for corporations worldwide. Her “Fearless” presentation, drawing parallels between reality television and real-world success, ranks among the nation’s top leadership presentations.
The positive response to her presentations prompted Perkins to establish The Rising Star Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides scholarships and opportunities for aspiring musicians while contributing to the local community. Cat Perkins’ journey exemplifies the transformative power of pursuing one’s passion and using success to empower others.
