His academic journey led him from the University of Calgary to UCLA, where his initial interest in child psychiatry evolved into a passion for public health, influenced by a Nobel Laureate Professor who highlighted the critical needs of developing nations. This pivotal mentorship directed Pankaj towards earning an M.S. in Public Health and a D. Env. in Environmental Science, equipping him with the knowledge to address pressing global health issues.

Driven by his firsthand exposure to the challenges of emerging nations, Pankaj dedicated 13 years of his career to Africa, developing essential primary healthcare programs for various governments. His expertise and dedication then led him to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), where he served for 28 years. Rising to Director of Water Quality and ultimately Assistant to the General Manager of the Water System, Pankaj became a nationally recognized advocate for enhanced drinking water quality.
